Tulse Luper Suitcases: Antwerp part two
The Tulse Luper Suitcases – Film 1 The Moab Story – Part 2

Synopsis

Tulse Luper, a determined optimist, and a compulsive writer and scribbler, imprisoned in a hotel bathroom in the Grand Railway Station Hotel in Antwerp, has his copious writings investigated and transcribed by orders of  the Antwerp stationmaster, by Cissie Colpitts, a woman who will become his life-long lover. Luper learns to use his prison time, writing on his prison walls, inventing projects for literature, theatre and cinema, and engaging with his jailers in various plots, schemes and adventures, causing the situation of jailer and prisoner to be persistently interchangeable, all the time making plans to escape with the aid of his friend Martino Knockavelli and his assembly of dubious collaborators. The stationmaster is determined  to photograph Luper as a Fascist sympathiser, and puts him in the hands of two eccentric jailers, Figura and Zeloty, who are eventually bought off by Lephrenic, one of Luper¹s Mormon American acquaintances, who stages Luper¹s phoney death as the Germans bomb the railway station. Luper is whisked away to other war-zones, other prisons and other adventures.
